The Houston Aeros in association with local Adult Leagues are excited to announce the formation of the Houston Hockey Series. This League is a first-of-it’s-kind for recreational hockey in Houston. 4 teams are being selected to represent their respective leagues and compete for a City Championship. What makes this particular series unlike any in the country is the fact that all of the games will be matched with Aeros games at Toyota Center!

“I have been fortunate enough to develop close relationships with a number of influential players in the city. A few of the organizers and myself actually began discussions in March about a potential ‘city championship.’ The more we ran ideas across each other, the better it got…” said Josh Young of the Houston Aeros. “We have done a lot of research and there is nothing like this in the country. Players in this series will experience what it is like to be a professional hockey player and will be able to call Toyota Center home. It’s like a Fantasy Camp to the tenth power.”

Ryan Jones, the president of Golden Triangle Hockey out of Beaumont was the first to suggest the idea to Young. “I wanted there to be a way for all of the leagues in Houston to compete against one another,” he said. “I’m a hockey addict, and we have come up with something that will be a first class experience for any player. It is exactly what I envisioned!”

For it’s inaugural season, the Houston Hockey Series will host teams from Sugarland, Willowbrook, Space City, and Beaumont. All players must be currently enrolled in a local league to be eligible. Spots are open by invitation only. Please contact Josh Young at 713-361-7937 for additional details. Interested players should contact Ryan Jones (Beaumont & Space City) at ryanjones2150@gt.rr.com, Dan Pata (Willowbrook) danielpata@sbcglobal.net , or Barry Price (Sugarland) baprice@tceq.state.tx.us .
