
The Houston Aeros, in association with, USA Hockey are encouraging Houston area residents to participate in Hockey Weekend Across America (Jan 29-31). The HWAA initiative is in its third year and is a nationwide effort by USA Hockey to celebrate the great game of hockey.
Some of the local rinks in the Houston Area will be holding events on Saturday January 30th to help promote the nationwide initiative.
The Sugarland Ice & Sports Center- will be holding a “hockey for free” program supported by USA Hockey. They are having a hour of ice from 10.45a.m.-11.45a.m. for anyone who would like to try hockey. You can skate for free as long as you have an approved helmet and some thick gloves.
The Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex- will have a Chuck a Puck for Star Skaters and offer a half off–$5.00 public session to all. Lots of fun activities for all. Used equipment and skate sale for Star Skaters. Skating exhibitions by Theater on Ice teams. Free skating lessons and free try hockey. You must sign up online ahead of time at aerodromes.com.
Space City Ice Station- will have a try Hockey for free clinic from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. (check-in at 10 a.m.) as well as other fun games and prizes.
